对于我们脚下的地球,可能大家并不陌生。但是如果要问一下古地球的情况是否和现在的地球一样呢?这个问题也许就有不少人回答不上了。我们知道,地球作为太阳系的行星已在大约50—60亿年前就形成了。在这漫长的时期中,它一直在运动和演变,—刻也没有停止过。随着人们对地球研究日益深化,特别是近年来前寒武纪地质学研究取得了重大进展,为恢复早期地球的面貌提供了重要依据。现在已有足够资料证明,古地球的情况与现在地球是大不相同的。
