自7月中旬以来,全国各地的专业与业余戏剧工作者掀起了宣传保衛和平反对美英帝国主义侵略的創作和演出的高潮。正在淮南矿区演出的安徽省話剧团以两小时的时間創作了活报剧《把美英海盗赶出地中海》等节目到旷区的街头、飯館演出。辽宁人民艺术剧院、沈阳市話剧团,和平京剧团、辽宁京剧团、辽宁歌舞团和在沈阳演出的中国京剧院二团都上街演出了临时突击出来的活报剧。郑州市有十多个专业剧团都积極地編排了短小多样的节目,仅在7月17日上午的三小时內就在街头演出了43场,受到教育的观众有两万多人。

Zhengzhou City, more than a dozen professional theatrical troupes are actively arranged a short variety of programs, only in the morning of July 17 within three hours on the street in 43 performances, educated audience of more than twenty thousand people.
