Based on the statistics and analysis of actual waxing conditions in the on-site pipeline of Maneuvering Fire, taking iron great crude oil pipeline as the research object, the distributive regularity of paraffin deposits in the pipe was preliminarily determined by combining the changes of conveying technology and conveying medium over the past 10 years. Heat exchange between the crude oil in the pipe and the surrounding environment is an important factor that determines the thickness, distribution and strength of the wax in the pipe. The differences of oil temperature, environment and heat preservation effect along the pipeline are the main reasons that lead to the uneven distribution of wax in the pipe. The random drift and accumulation of falling wax blocks enhance the irregularity of the distribution of the wax deposits in the pipe. Severe wax blockage in local pipelines leads to a significant increase in the average wax thickness of pipelines. For pipe sections with severe local waxing, the actual waxing conditions of pipelines still need to be determined by traditional methods such as pipe cutting observation and encrypted open-hole manometry. In addition, a rough estimate of the current amount of wax in the pipeline.
