The article mainly introduces the general situation of opencast mining technology in the United States and Canada in 1964. It was pointed out that there is a current development trend of using large-scale mining to transport new equipment, high-power slurry explosives, remote control and automatic lubrication devices and the use of electronic computers in the design and production.
