1982年4月,日本设立了（财）新一代计算机技术开发机构,开始实行第五代计算机技术的研究开发计划。以此为契机,欧美各国也开始着手组织同样的研究开发工作。但这只是近一、二年来的动向,到真正形成组织还需要较长的时间。有的还只是处于计划准备阶段乃至由研究小组建议形成组织的阶段,所以很难确切掌握欧美动向。具体地说,美英两国制定了各自的计划,其中部分计划已经在最近开始实施。但是,其他各国还没有到这一步,计划内容尚有不明之处,而且还未固定下来。因此,我们所掌握的情况精粗俱在,归纳整理的欧美动向也不很平衡。但仍然愿意介绍给各位。
In April 1982, Japan established a new generation of computer technology development institutions and began implementing the fifth generation of computer technology research and development programs. Taking this opportunity, Europe and the United States also started to organize the same research and development work. But this is only the trend in the past one or two years and it takes a long time to really form an organization.
