常刘路小学是宜昌市唯一一所以体育教育为特色的全日制义务教育小学。学校以“健康奠基幸福人生”为共同愿景,以“健康第一”为指导思想,追求“更高、更快、更强”的体育精神,崇尚运动,崇尚健康。学校现有12个教学班,549名学生,在职教职工37人,其中本科以上学历教师21人,省市区骨干教师、学科带头人4名。学校开设有武术、体育舞蹈、乒乓球、跆拳道、篮球、健身操等特色课程,并配有武术馆、乒乓球室、舞蹈
