《画刊》:先祝贺你在北京的展览成功。关于你的《靠近海》和《等待蛇的苏醒》,讲讲这两部作品吧。杨福东:这两个是我2004和2005年的作品。《靠近海》是一件十屏的影像装置,讲的是两个年轻恋人的故事。配合着小号、大提琴等不同乐器的演奏。故事发生在海边。《等待蛇的苏醒》是讲一个逃离战场的士兵的故事,也是十屏的。这两件从某种意义上来说,算是新的作品,因为是第一次在国内展映。
Pictorial: Congratulations on your successful exhibition in Beijing. Talk about your work near the sea and the snake waiting for the snake. Yang Fudong: These two are my 2004 and 2005 works. Near the Sea is a 10-screen video installation that tells the story of two young lovers. With a trumpet, cello and other instruments playing. The story happened at the seaside. Waiting for the Snake’s Wake is a story of a soldier who escaped from the battlefield and is also ten screens. These two pieces are in some ways regarded as new works because they are the first to be exhibited domestically.
