Auricular therapy was applied in the treatment of sudden retarded menstruation for three cases of patients which achieved satisfactory therapeutic effects,the research was carried out from May till October 2008. It is now reported as follows.CLINICAL DATA The three patients aged 45,36 and 34,were married mothers,who received their treatments in the out-patient department of the hospital. Generally speaking their menstruation was normal except one suffered from menorrhagia,however all of them complained of dysmenorrhea although in different degree,and tension. Early pregnancy tests were negative,ultrasonic examination showed uterus and fallopian tubes were in good condition,other gynecological diseases were excluded. There was no distinct evidence showing the predisposing cause for the onset of retarded menstruation. Among the 3 cases,the arrival of menstruation postponed,in the longest case,about 40 days,and the shortest 20 days.
