无端地怀疑妻子的不贞,并想方设法去试探,以期获得明证,结果反倒闹了一场无趣。这一类“天下本无事,庸人自扰之”的喜剧人物,生活中和舞台上屡见不鲜。莎翁笔下的《温莎的风流娘们》中的福德,我国传统戏曲《大登殿》的薛平贵,《蝴蝶梦》的庄周,大体上都可以归此系列。古今中外的戏剧家有感于此,用轻松、调侃的笔墨,活画出他们的嘴脸,为后人鉴,使子孙娱,倒也不失为一件乐事。最近,江西赣南采茶戏剧团进京演出,其中一出传统小戏《试妻》,写的也是这方面的内容。所不同的是,剧中的唐二,既没有福德那样显贵,也没有薛平贵那种威风,更没有庄周那顿悟一切的飘逸。他只是一个初通文墨的山野平民、市井小人。然而,在对待妻子的问题上,他除了有福德的多疑,薛平贵的自负、庄周的敏感之外,还有着小市民阶层特有的多情、小聪明和狡黠。小喜剧《试妻》紧紧环绕着人物这一
