Application of GPS technology in road engineering measurement tasks can save a lot of positioning time and reduce manpower workload. The main functions and system components of the GPS system are discussed. The technical advantages existing in the application process and the specific methods for the application of the technologies are mainly introduced to provide technical support for the measurement tasks.
