上世纪50年代,新疆地矿局第六地质大队诞生于东天山脚下的哈密。从那时起,以“献身地质事业为荣、艰苦奋斗为荣、找矿立功为荣”的“三光荣”精神便伴随着六队人的脚步,从哈密南部的雅满苏走到哈密东部的黄山,从罗布泊腹地走向全疆,一次次吹响胜利的号角。六队人在继承和发扬“三光荣”精神的同时。不断赋予其新的时代内涵,他们围绕创建和谐地勘单位目标,积极开展精神文明创建活动,收到了喜人的效果。
