I. INTRODUCTION It is one of the most important tasks for a boiler designer to improve the water circulation speed of a natural circulation boiler. Increasing the flow cross-sectional area of the downcomer, reducing the flow resistance coefficient of the ascending and descending pipe and reducing the thermal deviation are feasible methods to increase the circulating water velocity.
