年画起源于古代的门神画,而门神画又由门神符演变而来,是最早画在门户上用于辟邪的形象。鞭锏门神是门神画中最具特点的武门神,本文以最具代表性的陕西凤翔年画和河北武强年画中的鞭锏门神为例,从形体比例、造型特点以及艺术特色等方面比较其异同,从而阐释各自不同的地方色彩背后不同的地域文化。同时强调保留地方色彩对于木版年画传承与发展的重要性。
