At present, the adoption of oxygen-fuel burner in the electric arc furnace steelmaking process is a trend that can not be ignored. Today, at least 80% of electric arc furnaces in Japan are equipped with oxy-fuel burners, about 30% in Europe, but the United States has just begun. Slade-Bakken, Sweden, installed three AGA-MF700 oxygen-fuel burners on its 120-tonne EAF. The continuous operation of the electric arc furnace since 1979 shows that the oxyfuel burner system can increase the melting rate by 20%.
