In response, experts at home and abroad agreed that it is imperative that the Chinese kiwifruit growing industry be transformed from quantity-benefit to quality-benefit. Kiwifruit cultivation in China started in the 1980s. In recent years, the growth rate of kiwifruit growing industry continues to accelerate. According to incomplete statistics, the cultivated area in the country has reached 40,000 hectares, ranking the first in the world and the annual output has increased to nearly 90,000 tons, ranking the fourth in the world.
