Since 1980, norfloxacin has been developed into an antibacterial agent, many people have successfully synthesized a variety of fluorinated pyridine carboxylic acid compounds. Nine of them have become drug-listed and five are still in development. Osaka Pharmaceuticals Japan has synthesized a series of new 5-methyl quinolone compounds, OPC-17116 is one of them.
