2009年初,我被邀请担任世博会上海企业联合馆的文化总策划。这是一个非常有意思的展馆,主办方邀请了很多国内外的专家来参与设计工作。在这一年的时间里,我和这些专家在兴国宾馆的一个小会议室里,不断讨论着怎样通过这个小小的展馆去讲述上海的故事。2009年底,主办方又邀请了国际知名策展人刘香成先生在2010年上海世博会开幕前出版一部有关上海历史的摄影集。在同一间会议室里,刘香成把那些照片一张张翻给我看。同一个空间,不同的图像,一座城市的历史浓缩了。
In early 2009, I was invited to serve as the general manager for the Shanghai World Expo Shanghai United Pavilion. This is a very interesting exhibition hall, the organizers invited a lot of domestic and foreign experts to participate in the design work. During this year, I and these experts kept discussing how to tell the story of Shanghai in this small exhibition hall in a small conference room of Xingguo Hotel. At the end of 2009, the organizers invited Mr. Liu Xiangcheng, an internationally renowned curator, to publish a photo collection about the history of Shanghai before the opening of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. In the same conference room, Liu Xiangcheng turned over the photos to me. The same space, different images, the history of a city concentrated.
