为了加强编读往来,听取读者意见,提高刊物质量,在1987年北京社科书市期间,经中央人民广播电台和北京青年报的协助,本刊于5月30日召开了北京读者座谈会。来自不同岗位的读者二十多人参加了座谈。本刊副主编尹礼荣首先介绍了《译林》创刊8年来的概况,热忱欢迎与会者直抒已见,提出批评意见。好几位发言人都说,在我们的心目中,《译林》是一本严肃、稳健、格调高的刊物,办刊方针正确,社会效益好,深受读者欢迎。朝阳第一教师进修学校教师钱玫说:《译林》内容丰富,吸引力大,一看就放不下。我从《译林》这个窗口,看到了西方社会的现实和人际之间的关系,象《天使的愤怒》、《克莱默夫妇之争》等都有一定的深度,展示了美国社会的一个侧面。读了这样的小说,更使我体会到社会主义制度的优越性.交通部窦彦平说:《译林》没有迎合社会上有些低级趣味读物的不良倾向,它发表的小说内容健康,不仅具有欣赏价值,而且具有认识价值,生活面广,富有情趣,雅俗共赏。国际政治学院教师于洪金说:《译林》发扬了新、快的特色,象文化使节一样,为我们提供了最新的文坛信息,成为我备课讲学的好帮手,弥补了当代外国文学教材的某些不足,例如我根据《译林》的一则外国文坛动态,把海明威研究的新动向写进了教材.中国电视剧制
