Boris： No！ I refuse…
Natasha： Please， my love. I know this is a difficult thing to ask of you， but you must try to see it through my eyes， and through my pain.
Boris： I told you， I can’t do it！ I could not be the cause of my own greatest heartache; I could never forgive myself.
Natasha： Then you leave me no choice but to seek medical help.
Boris： Not in our state， you can’t. It’s against the law in Arkansas.
Natasha： Then I’ll ask to be transferred to another hospital across state lines. I don’t care. I can’t bear it anymore. The pain is unfathomable， every treatment has failed， every oncologist we’ve talked to said I have only months left to live.
Boris： But doctors aren’t always right. There are still experimental treatments—
Natasha： ①None of which I qualify for. ②Please Boris， just hear me out. （sigh） I love you so much， but I’m tired. I’m always tired， and weak， and nauseous. I have survived longer than I should have. I’m not giving up. ③I’m simply accepting my fate and going out on my own terms. And just like everyone has the right to live， some people， especially those in my situation， should also have the right to die.
Boris： I don’t want you to live in pain. But I could never be your executioner. ④You’re not some family pet that we can just put to sleep.
Natasha： But why should animals be allowed to die humanely and without pain， while humans are forced to suffer to their dying breath？ Does that make sense？
Boris： I suppose not…
Natasha： And how much money are you spending on my neverending medical bills？
Boris： I already told you， that doesn’t matter.
Natasha： It matters to me， damnit！I don’t wanna spend my final， painful days worried about how you’re gonna pay for all these treatments. Admit it！ Euthanasia would be a relief for you too.
Boris： That’s not even close to true！
Natasha： Well then， how about this？ If you really love me， as you’ve claimed to for the past half-century， you’ll let me go， and stop selfishly prolonging both our suffering by holding on to me so tight.
Boris： I’m only human， Natty！ And I’m yours ’til death do us part. Remember that？
Natasha： That’s where you’re wrong， my love. Because no matter what happens， I’ll always be yours and you’ll always be mine， long after these frail bodies have gone and turned to dust.
