Two new oxindole alkaloids. 17-demethoxy-hydroisorhynchophylline 1 and 17 demethoxy-hydroisorhynchophylline N-oxide 2, have been isolated from the aerial parts of Erva tamia yunnanensis. and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.
