Angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang-Ⅱ) is a biologically active peptide that is closely related to the development and metastasis of colorectal cancer. The authors studied the expression of two angiotensin II receptors in 20 patients with colorectal cancer. Angiotensin Ⅱ type 1 receptor (AT1R) protein is located on the cell membrane, while angiotensin Ⅱ type 2 receptor (AT2R) protein is located in the nucleus. The expression of AT1R was positively correlated with tumor stage and liver metastasis. The expression of AT2R was negatively correlated with tumor stage and liver metastasis. Experiments of knocking out AT1R or AT2R by applying angiotensin II were shown to demonstrate the respective effects of AT1R and AT2R in rat rectal cells. Results: knockout of AT2R showed AT1R and tumorigenesis
