The International Conference on the Advancement of Virology will be held in Catania, Italy, May 15-18, 1985. Meetings will include thematic discussions, essay reports, round tables and poster exhibitions. The main purpose of this meeting is to promote the exchange of scientific information on clinical virology and applied virology. The topics covered include: (1) subviral pathogens; (2) molecular basis and immunization of latent virus infections; (3) immune responses to viral infections; (4) retroviruses and human diseases; (5) New trends. Arrangements for the topics are: (1) the structure and function of the viral genome; (2) viral proteins and enzymes; (3) viral glycoproteins; (4) diseases
