新华社有个在加拿大学习的研究生到《多伦多时报》实习时,跟该报一老记者到一家新开张的饭店去采访,回来后写了一条消息交给总编辑。总编看后,首先问他们在这家饭店吃饭了没有?他们说吃了。总编没吭声,从口袋里掏出200元钱,然后写了一个条子:某某饭店经理,我们的记者今天吃了你的饭,实在对不起,现把饭钱退给你。然后,总编把那篇稿子也退给记者,说:“吃了饭的消息不能登,得重写?”
