谷胱甘肽S-转移酶(GST)除在血吸虫的解毒系统中起中心作用外,还可能增加虫体肠道中羟高铁血红素的溶解度。宿主针对GST的特异性免疫反应对虫体也许是致命的。因此,认为GST可能是一种潜在的疫苗。用重组的曼氏血吸虫28kDa谷胱甘肽S-转移酶(SmGST28)免疫多种动物均已获得显著的抗曼氏血吸虫(Sm)攻击感染作用。
In addition to its central role in the detoxification system of schistosomiasis, glutathione S-transferase (GST) may also increase the solubility of the hematin in the intestinal tract of parasites. The host’s specific immune response to GST may be lethal to the worms. Therefore, GST may be considered as a potential vaccine. Infection of various animals with the recombinant Schistosoma mansoni 28kDa glutathione S-transferase (SmGST28) has yielded significant anti-infection effects against Schistosoma mansoni (Sm) infection.
