受人敬重的老行长卜明于1999年2月5日永远地离开了我们,江泽民、朱镕基等党和国家领导人送了花圈或致电慰问其家属,这是对卜明同志革命一生的充分肯定。怀着对卜老的敬仰之情,笔者于1997年秋冬断断续续采访了这位中行人心目中有口皆碑的老行长,以及熟悉卜老的原国务委员会张劲夫等卜老的老上级、老战友,他们都对卜老给予了很高的评价,采访后笔者撰写了卜老的长篇人物纪实。1998年冬初闻知卜老住院,且病情较重,笔者赶紧将初稿寄回,请卜老审定。当看到经卜老及卜老夫人王迪同志亲手改定的稿件,严肃认真,连标点符号都一丝不苟,尤其卜老把原稿中对他的一些较高的评价删去或改为朴实的字句,笔者更加深深地爱戴这位受人尊敬的老行长。在此,笔者将卜老生前最后亲自审定修改的、纪录卜老光辉一生的长篇纪实发表,以示对老行长的敬重与怀念。
