广东省从１９９１年开展可持续发展实验区工作，目前有２个国家级实验区、２个省级实验区。实验区的建立，是为了解决当前经济与社会发展不协调、资源环境问题日益突出、物质文明与精神文明建设不同步等问题。广东省四个不同级别、不同类型的实验区，在追求可持续发展的道路上各有不同的发展特色和目标追求，经过多年的实践探索，取得显著的经济效益和社会效益。在挎入新世纪的发展新阶段，实验区不仅面临着新的形势、新的目标，而且还提出许多新的问题、新的课题让我们去思考和解决。
Guangdong Province has carried out the work of sustainable development experimental zone since 1991, at present there are 2 state-level experimental zones and 2 provincial experimental zones. The establishment of the experimental zone is aimed at solving the current problems of uncoordinated economic and social development, the increasingly prominent problems of resources and the environment, and the unsynchronized development of material and spiritual civilizations. Guangdong Province, four different levels and different types of experimental areas in the pursuit of sustainable development have different development characteristics and goals of the pursuit of many years of practical exploration and achieved significant economic and social benefits. When entering the new stage of development in the new century, the experimental area not only faces the new situation and new goals, but also raises many new questions and new topics allow us to think and solve them.
