魔芋的全生育期一般为200天左右,如满足生育期后不收挖,在温度较高条件下(日平均气温15℃以上),地下部球茎仍能在原有基础上继续膨大。据有关科研部门研究,魔芋植株自然枯萎后,地下部一般还能膨大10～20％。据魔芋产区调查,收获过早,会降低产量15％左右。因此,魔芋的收获期应适当推迟,一般气温降到15℃以下,地上部植株倒苗后,叶片枯黄,地下部球茎和根状茎进入休眠期,才可以收获。最佳收获期是植株倒苗后一个月之内,一般在10月下旬到11月上旬收挖为宜。
