The levels of plasma lipids, malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in 40 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) accompanied with coronary heart disease (CHD) and 32 patients with NIDDM without heart and brain complications ) Serum levels, the results showed that, in addition to cholesterol, the rest of the indicators between the two groups were significantly different. MDA in CHD group was significantly higher than that in control group, while SOD was significantly lower than that in control group. Multivariate linear correlation analysis showed that there was a significant positive correlation between LDL cholesterol and MDA (r = 0.5712; P <0.001). There was a significant positive correlation between high density lipoprotein cholesterol and SOD (r = 0.5112; P <0.001), suggesting that there is a relationship between hyperlipidemia and lipid peroxidation in patients with NIDDM.
