蓬溪县上东乡和平民校(现在上游人民公社上东区联队四管区农民业余学校就是在这个基础上发展起来的),在党的领导下,自1951年开办冬学以来,至今坚持了九年,从最初一个扫盲班45人,发展到现在已有一个业余初中班、两个高小班和五个识字组,共计学员113人,占青壮年应入学人数的96.6％。已成为我县扫盲和业余教育战线上的一面红旗,先后受到专、县、区的六次奖励,获得了县模范民校的光荣称号。解放前,这里连一所初级小学都没有。广大农民过着吃不
