我们通常所见的大花蕙兰大都是花茎向上生长的。然而近年来在欧美一些国家和日本,却出现了一种花茎弯垂向下的大花蕙兰——垂花蕙兰。其形态婀娜别致,适合吊挂栽培。为这了使国内更多的读者认识这种兰花,毕业于台湾文化大学、正在美国从事兰花育种研究的麦奋先生撰写了此文。在文中,他还针对垂花蕙兰自身的一些不尽人意的地方,提出了用我国原产的一些兰花与垂花蕙兰杂交、以求尽善尽美的设想,读后令人耳目一新。本刊拟分几次连载。
