在器官移植事业中,还有一个非常非常重要的人员,那就是器官捐献协调员。器官捐献协调员的主要职责就是根据捐献者的意愿,协助捐献者家属和医院,完成整个器官捐献流程。截止到2016年4月,全国共有人体器官捐献协调员1 512人默默地坚守在器官移植事业的第一线,他们是器官捐献事业中的幕后英雄。为了能多挽救一个生命,为了多一个家庭团聚,他们不辞劳苦、不分昼夜,忍受着别人的不解、白眼,甚至谩骂和拳头,用自己的辛苦换来新生的希望。有人说他们是连接生与死的桥梁,是生命的使者;也有人说他们是传递生命之火的火炬手。对于这份工作,他们自己又是怎么说的呢?
In the organ transplant business, there is a very, very important person, that is organ donor coordinator. Organ donation coordinator’s primary responsibility is to assist donors’ families and hospitals to complete the entire organ donation process, depending on the donor’s wishes. As of April 2016, a total of 1 512 coordinators of human organ donation nationwide have been quietly sticking to the forefront of organ transplantation, the behind-the-scenes hero in organ donation. In order to save more lives and to reunite one family, they worked tirelessly, day and night, endured the misunderstanding of others, looked down upon one another, even cursed and fist-fisted, and used their own hard-earned hopes for new life. Some people say that they are the bridge between life and death, the messenger of life; others say they are the torchbearer that transmits the fire of life.
