2013年全县经济工作的总体要求是:深入学习和全面贯彻党的十八大精神,以邓小平理论、“三个代表”重要思想、科学发展观为指导,以提高经济增长质量和效益为中心,着力转方式、调结构、惠民生、保稳定,全面推进“四化两型”建设,为把衡南建成全市老百姓最富裕、城乡最美丽、县域经济综合实力最强的县而努力奋斗。奋斗目标是:实现地区生产总值增长10-13%;财政收入确保增长10%,力争增长15%;固定资产投资增长
