通常此句中“如”字解释为“不如”“比得上”意思,就是说不要跟不如自己的人交朋友。这样理解与孔子“泛爱众”“君子周而不比”“不耻下问”“有教无类”等一贯的思想观念是不相合的,在逻辑上也是行不通的。而应理解为“不和自己不志同道合的人交朋友”!和孔子“道不同不相为谋”正好相符,也启发了我们当代人如何健康的择友有利于人类社会的和谐。不戴有色眼镜,要各自取长补短,相互帮助,为他人服务,培养良好的人际情感。
