英语翻译作为一种跨越语言、跨越文化的交流活动,不只是简单语言形式上的转换,更是一种文化信息上的交际。人在交际时通常会受到语言环境的制约,不同的地理环境、历史环境、宗教环境、风俗环境等,以上这些不同的环境因素都会影响着语言文化环境的形成,然而语句的翻译从根本上依赖着其所处的语言文化环境。可见不同的语言文化环境决定着,在进行翻译时词义的提取,因此,翻译者必须全面了解两国的语言文化,才能对语句做出正确的判断及理解。
