China’s copper resources purchasing team recently says that China’s eight major copper smelters are determined to stand firm against the TC/RC pricing proposed by the copper concentrates sellers and the smelters have agreed to cut their production by 10 per cent in the second half of the year if price remains at irrational level. They also ask China’s Ministry of Commerce to turn down any import certificates application if the contract prices of the other buyers break the bottom line set by the major copper smelters.
