1997年7月19日,省政府副秘书长、《湖北政报》主编张维先主持召开《湖北政报》第三次编委会。会议总结了1997年度政报编辑工作和宣传发行工作,通报了“读者问卷调查活动”的情况,对进一步提高《湖北政报》的质量和做好1998年度宣传、发行工作进行了讨论和研究。与会编委充分肯定政报坚持以传达政令、指导工作为宗旨、坚持以经济建设为中心,紧密围绕省委、省政府的中心工作,采取有效措施,提高编辑质量,办出湖北特色,使之成为依法治省和依法行政
