Zhou Guang Zhao, born in May 1929 in Changsha City, Hunan Province, graduated from Tsinghua University in 1951. From 1987 to 1997, he served as president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and now serves as vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and chairman of the National Committee of China Association for Science and Technology.
