代表中国先进文化的前进方向,是江泽民总书记继承党建理论的发展成果,从新的时代出发,对全体共产党员和领导干部的一项根本性要求,是一项具有重大和深远意义的论述。江总书记关于“代表中国先进文化的前进方向”的论断,作为“三个代表”思想相互联系的有机组成部分,从根本上阐明了党的属性和本质,阐明了跨世纪发展的新的历史条件下党在文化建设上的行动纲领。江总书记明确指出,深刻认识和牢牢把握这三个代表,用以指导自己的思想和行动,是判别所有共产党员和领导干部是否合格的根本标准。牢牢把握先进文化的前进方向,对我们党既具有根本的指导意义,又具有深刻的现实意义。
