Kafka by the Sea contains Japan’s war memory and author’s comprehensive thinking on the causes of war, the evil in war and how to get out of the shadows of war. With regard to Japan’s war memory, Murakami’s strategy of “relativization”, while weakening the responsibility of Japan’s national war, has actively aroused his / her “victim’s” identity memory to mask Japan’s “perpetrator” Image. Murakami paid attention to Buddhism’s practical skills and the concept of “four robberies” to reveal the prescription of “forgetfulness.” However, he ignored the Buddhist precepts and his Buddhist thought was just a pretext. His writing was full of randomness Strategy can not bring real redemption, only a temporary paralytic effect.
