6921部队驻地周围都是水网稻田,紧靠卫生条件较差的居民点,当地年平均气温为23℃,四季均适合蚊蝇孳生。自从1960年6月以来,该部以四好为纲,积极开展了除害灭病运动,从而使部队的卫生面貌大为改观,各种常见疾病和传染病大大降低,保证了广大官兵的身体健康。三年来,“四无”单位逐年增多,环境处处整洁,看不到垃圾、积水和杂草,厕所和田头粪坑都加了盖,四害很少发现。三年来,昼夜发病率每年都在指标以下;痢疾、肝炎和急性肠炎的发病率,除第一年外,其余两年均低于规定的指标;瘧疾第二年没有发生(第一年和第三年超过了指标);食物中毒已经杜绝。在除害灭病工作中,该部有以下几点体会:
