Objective: To explore the impact of changes in mode of delivery on the quality of obstetrics. Methods: The data of different modes of delivery in our hospital from 1993 to 1997 were collected to calculate the average yearly rate of cesarean section operation and the average annual rate of vaginal delivery. At the same time, the annual postpartum hemorrhage rate, neonatal mortality rate And neonatal asphyxia rate. Results: Statistical analysis showed that in our hospital, the rate of cesarean section increased at an average rate of 12% per year in 5 years, while the vaginal delivery rate decreased at an average rate of 13.84% per year. Changes in mode of delivery, the incidence of neonatal asphyxia in 1997 decreased significantly compared with 1993 (P <0.05), while postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal mortality did not decline significantly (P> 0.05). Conclusion: Cesarean section rate increases and vaginal delivery rate decreases, which can reduce neonatal asphyxia rate, but can not effectively reduce maternal postpartum hemorrhage rate and neonatal mortality rate.
