Business intelligence research should serve the development of an export-oriented business economy. This is the remark made by Comrade Fu Limin, Deputy Minister of Commerce, in his dialogue with the Ministry of Information and Intelligence on July 14, 1988. He said the ministry leaders held a meeting recently to study the development of an export-oriented business economy. The import and export volume of the Ministry of Commerce accounts for about 10% of the total import and export volume of the country. The Ministry of Commerce system has the advantage of developing an export-oriented economy and should actively explore this aspect of work. The ministry leaders believe that it is necessary to play the role of intelligence agencies. For this reason, the work direction of intelligence agencies should be shifted to the track of serving the development of an export-oriented commercial economy as soon as possible. Intelligence needs to give full play to the advantages of talent pooling so as to conduct a comprehensive and systematic investigation and study for the development of an export-oriented economy and set directions
