本文首先论述了高等级公路对于以经济较发达的城市为中心、带动周围农村统一组织生产和流通、发挥城市功能、密切城乡联系、促进乡村地区的发展的重要作用;其次分析了高等级公路同大中城市,集镇的连接型式。高等级公路与市区道路的连接,以及高等级公路通过市区内部的处理方法;还列举了国内外一些城市的连接实例。对于当前公路建设中处理公路与城市的关系,有一定的现实意义。
