Plus, The Globe and Mail, May 26, 1980, page 17 Harold M.Sehmeck Jr. reads: "The scientists are paying more and more attention to the magnetic fields generated by the electrical activity of the human brain, heart and other organs. It has recently been discovered that even air bubbles on the head create their own magnetic fields. Studying this highly individualized but very weak magnetism allows scientists to observe some of the basic functions of the human body from a new and bright future. Although most of the research in this area is still basic, experts foresee the possibility of future important medical applications. For example, a map of the brain’s magnetic field is called magnetoencephalography and researchers expect it to become an important aid in diagnosis.
