商务流程外包(BPO)系指外包供应商向客户提供特定业务的解决方案,以降低客户的成本,使客户可以更集中于核心业务。BPO的实质是“做你最有优势的业务,把其他的交给别人做”。BPO作为一个经营管理的理念,在20世纪80年代被美国等发达国家的企业普遍接受,随着 ICT技术的发展,离岸BPO迅速发展,而且BPO业务范围迅速向服务业渗透,特别是一些知识密集的服务业,如软件开发、金融后台服务、数据处理等,这些发展动向预示BPO将可能成为推动经济全球化发展的新的引擎。
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) refers to outsourcing providers to provide customers with specific business solutions to reduce customer costs, so that customers can be more focused on the core business. The essence of BPO is “do your most advantageous business and leave the others to others.” As a concept of management and operation, BPO was generally accepted by the developed countries such as the United States in the 1980s. With the development of ICT technology, the offshore BPO developed rapidly and the business scope of BPO rapidly penetrated into the service industry. In particular, some knowledge Intensive services such as software development, financial backstage support, data processing, etc. indicate that BPO will likely become the new engine for promoting economic globalization.
