2003年1月24日,中国社会科学院语言研究所在中国社会科学院小报告厅举行了李荣先生追思会。大家共同回顾了李荣先生在语言学特别是汉语方言学方面的杰出成就、他的广博的学识和严谨的学风。追思会由方言研究室主任张振兴主持。会上先后发言的有沈家煊、董琨、韩敬体、侯精一、陈章太、贺巍、李行健、林连通、林茂灿、曹剑芬、张盛裕、梁敏、谢自立、照那斯图、道布、王维新、曹先擢、白婉如、项梦冰、曹志耘、吴宗济以及李荣先生的长女李乃一等先生,会上还宣读了郭良夫、李小凡、汪平、温端政、沈慧云、吴建生等人的书面发言。以下是摘选的部分发言。
On January 24, 2003, the Institute of Language of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held a memorial meeting of Mr. Li Rong in the small lecture hall of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. All members reviewed Mr. Li Rong’s outstanding achievements in linguistics, especially Chinese dialectology, his extensive knowledge and rigorous style of study. Recalled by the dialect research director Zhang Zhenxing presided over. At the meeting, Shen Jiawei, Dong Kun, Han Jingwei, Hou Jingyi, Chen Zhangtai, He Wei, Li Xingjian, Lin Lian Tong, Lin Maocan, Cao Jianfen, Zhang Shengyu, Liang Min, Xie Zili, Cao Xiangyuan, Bai Wanru, Xiang Mengbing, Cao Zhiyun, Wu Zongji and Mr. Li Naiyi, the eldest daughter of Mr. Li Rong, also read out the written statements of Guo Liangfu, Li Xiaofan, Wang Ping, Wen Duanzheng, Shen Huiyun and Wu Jiansheng.
