传统的经济发展在发展的同时，不仅使生态环境和自然资源遭到破坏，而且也使经济发展受到制约。可持续发展要求发展是经济、社会、资源和环境保护的协调发展，既要达到发展的目的，又要保护好人类赖以生存的环境。本文认为，我国东西部地区的差距．要求西部地区加快经济发展，西部地区选择可持续发展战略是必要的，也是可能的。它必将使西部经济得到持续、稳定、健康的发展，这对西部乃至全国的经济发展具有重要和深远的意义。
While the traditional economic development is developing, not only the ecological environment and natural resources are destroyed, but also the economic development is restricted. The development of sustainable development requires that the coordinated development of economy, society, resources and environmental protection should not only achieve the goal of development but also protect the environment in which mankind depends. This paper argues that the gap between eastern and western China. It is necessary and desirable to require the western region to speed up economic development and to choose a sustainable development strategy in the western region. It will surely bring about a sustained, steady and healthy development of the western economy, which is of great and far-reaching significance to the economic development in the west as well as the whole country.
