张士秀(公元1870——1924年),字实生,永济市开张镇南营村人。 幼年时家境贫寒,然聪明好学。性倜傥果毅,喜交游而恶豪强。12岁时因其伯父霸占田产,乃到县衙击鼓告状。在公堂上侃侃而谈,以口算田亩钱粮胜过了县太爷的珠算速度,打赢了官司,博得了“铜嘴铁舌”的绰号。18岁时父死,家道中落,遂辍学归家从事农业兼营商业。光绪二十六年(公元1900年)因县中差徭事务紊乱,经人推荐担任了县差徭局长,不逾月而差徭
