专利文献与其它类型文献相比较,具有新颖性、先进性、实用性的显著特点。据介绍,世界上的技术发明有90～95%发表在专利文献上。因而,专利文献受到科研、生产部门用户的重视。仅据辽宁省科技情报研究所1981年1—6月的短期统计,专利文献的复制量占同期馆藏科技文献复制总量的77.7%,借阅量占41.8%。但是,专利文献的数量相当大,增长速度相当快。据1978年WIPO 统计,世界专利说明书累计约2700万件。出版专利说明书的国家90多个每年各国专利局批准的专利说明书与正在审批和早期公开的专利说明书共计100万件。一个省级专利文献服务单位,既不可能也没有必要收藏自建立专利制度以来
Compared with other types of literature, patent documents have the distinctive features of novelty, advancedness and practicability.
