在已经能看到中华民族各方面事业不断走向复兴与繁荣的今天,要求中国画合乎其自身文化规律的发展,也是必然的趋势。对于这一点,我们结合前瞻与回顾,既考察老一辈艺术家的成就,也关注不断涌现并走向成熟的后生们的努力,这是本栏目的职责,更是关心民族艺术健康发展所需要的工作。[时代人物]谢稚柳、[本期名家]吴上炜以及[学院作品]介绍的新锐画家们,在不同的时代背景和文化环境下,虽然取径有所不同,但他们都力图在重视文化规律的前提下,通过自己的创造性实践为中国画的发展贡献着一己之力。文化艺术的发展除了需要人这一因素的积极主动性之外,还同样需要我们合理地使用和充分地保护各种类型的文化资源,而这方面我们今天做得还很不够。在[现象]栏目里,我们对此再做进一步的观察。
